THE PTSA WELCOMES PRINCIPAL - MS. CARLA BRUNING!
The
PTSA is very excited to have Mrs. Bruning with us. She shows a genuine
interest in the well-being of the students and we have received such
positive feedback from all of the students who have enjoyed her
"fun-loving" spirit as she participates in their daily school life as
well as after-school activities. She regularly attends the PTSA
meetings and always listens to our concerns. She does her best to
address any issues that arise right away. I encourage our parents to get
to know Mrs. Bruning and we know you will be delighted with her as much
as we are!

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Newsome High School PTSA Scholarships - Applications are due by 3:30pm February 17, 2012, to Ms. Hacker, Guidance Resource Counselor. Click here for the Scholarship Application.
Florida PTA Scholarship Program - Annual scholarships are awarded for each academic year in the amount of $1,000 and may be renewed annually, provided the recipient has maintained a 2.5 or "C" GPA, for the equivalent of two semesters. In addition, the Florida PTA offers non-renewable scholarships in the amount of $1,000 for the following: Vocational/Technical, Community/Junior College and Fine Arts. The deadline for scholarships is usually in March. Please check back after winter break for the application and details.

Reflections Art Contest - This program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. This year's theme is "Diversity Means...." Students are encouraged to submit works of art in six areas: Dance choreography, Film production, Literature, Musical composition, Photography, and Visual arts.
